Rules
Trapping is the only way to gain Trimps (Trimps don't breed, Tauntimps add housing but not Trimps)
Every Trapping action destroys 10% of stored Food, Wood, Metal and Science

"Travel to a dimension where Trimps refuse to breed in captivity, teaching you to stop breeding such weak Trimps. Trimps also seem to release an unfortunate burst of radiation when Trapped in this reality, instantly destroying 10% of your stored Food, Wood, Metal, and Science. So like, be careful of that. Clearing Melting Point (Zone 50) will complete this Challenge!"

Trappapalooza is a new challenge introduced together with the Radon Universe. Completing this challenge unlocks the Resilience Perk for U2.

Rules[]

Just like Trapper, Trimps don't breed.

In addition, performing a Trapping action causes 10% of currently stored Food, Wood, Metal and Science to disappear.

Due to the high player's efficiency, performing 10 Trappings at once causes resources to deplete at a much faster rate than usual.

Strategy[]

Invest your Radon in Bait. If you really want to optimize your Radon, then take Radon out of Pheromones, since it won't do anything in this challenge.

The disappearance of resources means that one has to be more careful about Trapping in this challenge. Make sure you have invested all spare resources into buildings, jobs or equipment before Trapping.

Challenge³[]

This section is written from the point of view of a player who is looking to increase the c³ score, and may not have played this challenge in several months.

The defining characteristic of this challenge is that your actual population will be significantly lower than your maximum population, and can't be increased by much. As such, we make the following observations:

  • Trapping is basically pointless. You may increase your actual population by ~2% if you put effort into it, which is simply not worth the time spent. Just throw a thousand trimps into each of the basic jobs, and click the manual Science button. You'll get almost all of your Science from Efficiency upgrades.
  • Meteorologists are still worth buying if you have 10 or more Antennae, for the Health bonus.
  • Your resources will come from loot, not from gathering. (Remember, loot is proportional to your max pop.)
  • At some point, you will no longer be able to supply enough trimps to send out a new army. You will want to restrict your purchase of Coordinations so that you can send out a small number of armies in the end of the run.
  • Going to the map chamber involves dying, which you can only do a limited number of times. (This part is a bit like Berserk.)
  • Automatic Equality scaling is useless, because it only triggers when you die.

Therefore:

  • Use a staff with "Drop" bonuses rather than "Efficiency" bonuses.
  • Turn off Map At Zone. You'll need to cruise through most of the run without mapping.
  • Turn off Equality Scaling. Set the Equality manually to a medium value once you approach the point where you're in danger of dying. Set it to a high value when you start raiding maps.
  • Turn off AutoUpgrade around zone 50 or so, and buy everything except Coordinations manually. Only buy enough Coordinations so that your army size is about a quarter of your actual population.
  • Turn off AutoFight. If you die, you'll want to head to the map chamber and start farming manually.
  • Use Fast Attacks maps for farming, or Prestigious maps for raiding. Caches are gathering-based so they give you basically nothing.

Go as far as you can without dying. When you finally die, you will probably be sitting on some unpurchased prestiges due to lack of metal. Set the Equality slider to something that looks appropriate, and farm a Mountain map (or a Farmland map if you're fortunate enough to be on an x1 or x5 zone) until you've got your prestiges. Then start raiding ahead -- carefully! -- and try to set yourself up for one final push.

Don't forget to farm for a Smithy, and then run Melting Point for your final pair of Smithies (assuming Spire Assault bonus). Set Equality as high as you can, and send your final army out to fight in the world zones. Buy as many Coordinations as the game will let you. As you progress from here, you may find it worth switching your staff to one with Efficiency bonuses, assigning as many leftover workers as you can, and cashing in on stored Bone Charges if you have any.

Once your final army dies, the run is over. Better luck next time!
